Reservation will be applicable to economically weaker sections in jobs and education in Goa, applicable EWS quota

The Goa Government has ordered all its departments, public sector undertakings and educational institutions to implement financially vulnerable sections (EWS) for 10 percent reservation in jobs and education. The government issued the order on Friday. 

In the last week, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has approved a proposal related to 10 percent quota for economically weaker sections in addition to existing reservations in government jobs and education in the state. 

All the departments, public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies have been instructed to revise the existing parameters to provide reservation to EWS in a office circular issued by the state's social welfare director Parag Nagarskar on Friday.
